Learn to skydive
Always wanted to learn to skydive yourself? Then you're in the right place at Skydive Teuge, the National Paracentre of the Netherlands. Skydiving is a very dynamic and exciting sport! With our AFF and staticline (incl. military wing) courses, anything is possible!
How old must and can you be for your training?
Minimum age
To be allowed to skydive independently, you must be 16 years or older. Until 18, you also need permission from both your parents or guardian.
Maximum age
The maximum age to take another skydiving course at Skydive Teuge is 50 years old. Parachuting is physically and mentally a demanding high-speed sport that requires fast and adequate action in certain situations. We know from experience that people at an advanced age pick this up much less well and quickly than younger people. Despite all safety measures, the risk of acting incorrectly or too late increases considerably, sometimes resulting in nasty and serious injuries.
How heavy can you be to undergo training?
To attend a training course, we have a maximum weight limit of 115kg including clothing and footwear.
Medical fitness
A medical certificate is required to take a skydiving course! More information:
If you already know that you want to learn to skydive, it's best to start with AFF training right away. With the AFF method, you go straight from the first jump to 4 km altitude and make a 50-second freefall accompanied by two instructors. After 7 jumps (7 levels), you are already able to make a controlled freefall jump independently from 4 km altitude. AFF is by far the best method to learn freefall skydiving quickly and safely.
Still a bit hesitant to do a full AFF course right away? Then follow an introductory course and make 1 jump. You will go through all the exercises and theoretical knowledge (1 day) you need to make your first jump the next day. If you decide to continue then you pay an additional fee and can complete the full AFF course.
National Parachutistcentre Teuge has been visited by military personnel wanting to get their parawing for more than 40 years. This rich (military) history at Teuge translates into special offers for active military. To be allowed to wear the parawing, you have to make 5 staticline jumps and this can be completed in 2 to 3 days in good weather.
If you are not yet in possession of an A licence, then in accordance with the BVR (Basic Safety Regulations for Skydiving), a maximum period of 3 months is allowed between your jumps. If you have not jumped for longer than three months, you must first take a refresher course. The content of the refresher training depends on your experience and elapsed period. This is done in consultation with an instructor.
For A licence skydivers and above, the rule is that there should be no more than 6 months between jumps. If this period is exceeded, the form of the refresher training and/or modified jumps must be discussed with an instructor.
